ART DECO LOVERS
The Square Armand Steurs has become a landmark for lovers of art and monumental sculpture in Brussels. A listed site in the heart of the city, it embodies the style of landscaping and urban development between the wars, with an Art Deco charm, designed by the architect Eugène Dhuicque.

The history of Square Armand Steurs is a story of water that began at the end of the last century. Armand Steurs, former mayor of Saint-Josse-Ten-Noode and chairman of the Compagnie Internationale des Eaux de l'agglomération bruxelloise, took a bold initiative to solve the problem of water supply for the capital's municipalities.

It is in this place steeped in history that this exhibition of monumental sculptures has come to life every year since 1993.

In collaboration with "Les Journées du Patrimoine", we raise awareness, promote and share the architectural heritage and history of the park.

THE HISTORY OF THE ASBL
"Deux personnalités qui ont marqué l'histoire artistique de Bruxelles sont Myriam Goeminne et Michel Delabaye. Ils ont été les fondateurs de l'ancienne ASBL "Les amis du square Armand Steurs". Leur amour pour l'art et leur passion pour la sculpture les ont poussés à créer cet événement culturel majeur, offrant aux artistes un espace privilégié pour exprimer leur créativité et leur talent.
Depuis 2023, c'est avec ambition que les artistes Gilles Libert, Antoine Leclercq, Bruno Delmotte et Bob Van der Auwera reprennent les rênes de l'organisation de l'exposition au sein de la nouvelle ASBL "Square de la sculpture" et creent l'evenement "THEARTSQUARE". Leur objectif est de promouvoir la notoriété de cet événement bien au-delà des frontières de la région bruxelloise et d'attirer un public toujours plus large, tout en continuant à soutenir les talents locaux."
